Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

The church is not the building in which services and activities are held. THE church is the people of God. We are called to be active in our service to Him, and we offer many opportunities to do just that. Scroll down and sign up to serve and be an active participant in furthering the kingdom of God

Serve in our church

Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.

We love and appreciate all of our volunteers at SCC. We would love to have you be a part of the ministry of Southwestern Church by utilizing the gifts that God has blessed you with. There is anything from being a part of the prayer team to serving the coffee and donuts on Sunday mornings. We have a place for you to BE the church and SERVE to help further the Kingdom of God.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

You can click on the Sign Up to Serve button above, or you can stop by the connection center out in the lobby before or after Sunday worship. You can also speak to any SCC staff member who will gladly help you get started in serving  at SCC.

How do I volunteer with kids?

All volunteers at SCC that work with children and students will need to fill out a background check prior to serving in the particular area. Potential volunteers need to speak to Lacy Musick, our children's director about what age they would like to serve with. After passing the background check, the volunteer will serve in the classroom to make sure it is a good fit for both them and the children, and when the match is made,  they will be added to the rotating schedule.

How do I volunteer with music?

To be a part of the Awakened Worship team at SCC, you must first fill out an application which will be followed with either a vocal or an instrumental audition. Please see Pastor Billy for more details regarding serving on the worship team at SCC.

How do I volunteer with students?

All volunteers at SCC that work with children and students will need to fill out a background check prior to serving in the particular area. Potential volunteers need to speak to Heather Richardson, our youth director about what they would feel comfortable volunteer doing in the student ministry. After passing the background check, the volunteer will spend time hanging out with the students  to make sure it is a good fit for both them and the teens, and when the match is made,  they will be added to the rotating schedule.
